Lying in a barn

Found yesterday in a barn: an antique quilt covered of printed baskets of flowers, ribbons and garlands. Of course it's an antique, and it is very dusty but this could easily be cleaned. It is intact, not a hole, not a tear...I guess this is one of my new treasure and it will certainly be soon the subject of an"Item of the week" article!
Here are some pics, taken before cleaning...
Is this what they call "shabby chic"?

A fabulous thing to my eyes that was lying between others among a huge pile of burlap clothes.

Favorite item of the moment...

Some days ago I truffle out that lovely biscuits box.
It is quite an unusual item for me to buy as I'm normally not attracted by tin or metallic boxes. I mean I love old boxes, but the ones that I buy for myself are usually covered with fabric.
I have a small collection here and that one is the only metallic box that I might keep for myself.
I think the design just to be lovely, romantic and full of naive charm .

What do you think about it?

Speechless...

It’s always the same story: when I take time to sit in front of the computer, intending to write some lines for my blog and when everything is ready to record my words, I stay silent and speechless like if I had lost all my ideas. This really is a kind of affliction (ho no, I am not overestimating, it really is!) and this is often why there is nothing new in my blog.

You know, I feel now that my brain is, like my cupboards are full of items, full of ideas and full of things to tell. Funny things, interesting things, stupid things (yes!), lovely things (all this without being over-confident of course!) and I’m here, ready to entertain you but like paralyzed, don’t knowing where to start and what to tell.

GGGRRRRRR, I could kill someone!

Ideas are maybe gone, but I have still some pictures to show. These were made today here at home, in Papignies…

I’ll speak with you later…If I can find back my ideas!

Could this be part of Heaven?

There is now in my Ebay listing an item that I simply think to be fabulous! This is not a common thing for me as this is quite very different from my usual “old Victorian Lady” taste but I must admit that I absolutely ADORE that vintage tablecloth (and hope that some of us might like it too!).

I can’t tell how old it is but it is such a glamorous item! Made of thick and heavy fabric, the tablecloth is covered by one of the loveliest design of flowers, roses of course, in a stunning satin thread. The pattern is damask, a mix between rose’s flowers, rose’s buds and rose’s branches that are like “climbing” the fabric.

Very romantic and opulent, that pattern is made even more gorgeous and attractive by the use of satin thread damask in wonderful light gold tone. This makes that tablecloth a “sparkling” and “shining” item, with shades reflections, all changing with the daylight.

And above all, it is in pristine condition. Carefully stored away for our pleasure, it has never been used... And it is a complete set coming with its twelve napkins.

Imagine there, on that stunning fabric, your most beautiful dinner-set, your most beautiful glasses and your best friends sitting around the table for a great and memorable party. Don’t you think this to be “Part of Heaven”?
